Touratech Hard Parts for a BMW R1100GS

Telelever

Content

Here's the TouraTech Hard Part for the Telelever. It's basically a pair of stamped steel brackets held together by blocks of plastic that hold little rubber snubbers.

Start by unscrewing all four bolts on one side.

It doesn't matter which ones you undo. It's probably easier to tighten the bolts if you undo the top ones, but it's easier to set it in place if you undo the bottom ones.

Lay the top half of the bracket onto the Telelever.

The half-circle cutout of the pointy end of the top bracket fits into the Telelever ball-joint. When you have it lined up like this, everthing fits into place. Tighten the screws on one side.

Don't overdo it. The screws go into plastic which would be easy to overtighten and strip the threads.

Tighten the screws on the other side.
The steering is at full-left lock. You can see (and feel) how the rubber snubber limits the movement.
The steering is at full-right lock. You can see (and feel) how the rubber snubber limits the movement.
