Introduction
|
To provide an open forum where people of any gender or sexual orientation
can engage in discussion, support, socialization and general interchange
concerning jock straps, protective cups, and related subjects including
compression shorts and protective sports equipment.
The aim of this document is not to exhaustively define what ASJS
is about, but rather to define what it is not about,
outline what it is about, and leave the detail to be shaped by the
people who actually post to it.
|
The following
types of posts are particularly welcomed in this group:
|
- Discussions of jock straps, athletic supporters, suspensories,
thongs, groin cups, compression shorts, football and hockey pads,
etc.
- Accounts of experiences: first jock, jock sightings on TV and
sports broadcasts, etc.
- Jock strap stories, erotica, poetry and other creative writings.
- Reviews of jock straps.
- Socialization.
- Humour.
- Announcements of web sites and events.
Other types of post are not excluded, except as noted below.
|
Posting binaries
to this newsgroup is not forbidden. However, please consider the
following:
|
- Many ISPs automatically filter out binaries from newsgroups
that don't have "binaries" in the name, so many readers
will never see your image.
- Because of the volume of Internet traffic, your posts will probably
live for only a day or two before they disappear off the servers.
- It's easy to find free web-hosting services where your images
will last for as long as you keep the account current.
- If you want to post a bunch of images, please post an index
page with thumbnail imagess. Include just one image in each post
and make the subjects of the individual posts reflect the name
and size (in kB) of the image. That way people can download just
the images they want instead of having to sort through every simple
image for the ones they want to keep. (Not everyone has a T3 line
at work; some of us are still using 28.8kbps modems.)
- alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.male.underwear is a good place
to post binaries.
- alt.society.underwear and alt.culture.underwear are good places
to post about other types of underwear.
- You do not have the God-given constitutional right to post off-topic
pictures simply because they turn you on.
|
The following
types of posts are unacceptable in this group:
|
- Commercial Advertisements (posts offering something for sale,
directly or indirectly). (Try alt.sex.erotica.marketplace, alt.sex.wanted,
alt.sex.telephone, alt.bbs.ads, or alt.sex.magazines).
- Exception 1: On-topic advertisements for dealers of jock
straps and athletic supporters.
- Exception 2: On-topic "commercial" activities of non-profit,
charitable or community action/campaigning organizations are
acceptable.
- Exception 3: Commercial .sig line adverts are acceptable
if the .sig is smaller than the original and on-topic section
of the body of the post.
- Exception 4: Responses to legitimate questions by posters
who have commercial interest.
- Large crossposts. Messages crossposted to (or duplicated in)
more than 5 groups are unacceptable. Routine crossposting to more
than 3 groups is strongly discouraged.
- Any post (other than posts relating to the operation of the
group) which is repeated more frequently than once per calendar
month.
- Trolls, flamebait and other deliberately provocative material
cross-posted to (or duplicated in) more than 1 newsgroup. (Philosophy:
If you must start a flamewar, keep it to one group).
|
Unacceptable
use of the group:
|
The use of e-mail addresses from articles posted to this group for
the purpose of sending junk (mass unsolicited) e-mail or for compiling
a list so that others may do so is specifically prohibited. |
Cancellation
of messages:
|
Messages may only be cancelled by the poster, their ISP, or the
moderator of any other group where they may also have been posted.
As binaries are not prohibited by this charter, bots that automatically
cancel articles containing binaries are not welcome. |
