Toronto is the home of the Skydome, a really spiffy bug sports complex next to the CN Tower. But that's not where we played.
We played at the Varsity Arena near downtown Toronto. The arena management didn't want to cooperate with the Toronto Gay Hockey Association until the gay student union found out about it. They raised a ruckus and suddenly the arena managers became bery nice. They even put rainbow flags in the ice. The story was that the college hockey team had played there a few nights before. Ours was the last tournament to be held in the old place before it was torn down.
It was a dusty old place filled with tradition and wooden player's benches..
The halls are crowded. The floors had rubber mats for the skaters to follow when walking from the locker room to the ice.
