Breakfast
We met in Toronto for breakfast under some umbrellas. From left: Duchess Malenfant, Bullet Symmers, Dudley Quinn, Twinkle "Diablo" Ferry, Lulu Anderson, Clyde Breyer, Blackie Kurkowski, Tinsel Kirby, Junior Bones "Jake" Johnson, Muffy lehey, Freddie Golias, Hansie Auker, Butch Rose. We discussed lines, strategy, and boyfriends.

Arena
The tournament was held at the Ice Gardens at York University north of Toronto. The place is huge. Notice the tight security and "No Parking" signs.

Inside
It's easy to mistake the inside for an airport terminal. There are even computer monitors listing teams, arenas, and locker room numbers. Notice the presence of closeted armed guards ever vigilant to wrestle to the ground unwelcome reporters.

Directory
The Ice Gardens are so big, in fact, that you need a map to find your way around. Look! Six ice surfaces, each with six team lockerrooms. There is even a security station and interrogation rooms for reporters.

Lockerroom
Goalie Clyde Breyer straps on his pads as defenseman Duchess Malenfant ties his skates and defenseman Chumley Schmanski stretches out.

Team
Back row: Bullet Symmers, Freddie Golias, Tinsel Kirby, Junior Bones "Jake" Johnson, Blackie Kurkowsky, Chumley Schmanski, Butch Rose, Duchess Malenfant.
Front Row: Muffy Lehey, Twinkle "Diablo" Ferry, Clyde Breyer, Dudley Quinn, Hansie Auker, Lulu Anderson.

Goalie
Goalie Clyde Breyer shows off his near-perfect stance in front of the net.

The weekend in Toronto was the best vacation I have had in a long time. I will fondly remember this tournament -- my first -- for a long, long time. Toronto is a wonderful city, the Ice Gardens are an excellent facility, and I couldn't have chosen a nicer bunch of people to play hockey with.

Thanks to all my teamies ... we played hard and well. Thanks in particular to Jess for organizing the team and James for inviting us to his place for dinner Saturday night. And special warm thanks to my traveling companions and roomies Mike and John, for putting up with my impatience and independence. I owe you guys at least a beer.

Thanks to the cute boys for being there. I hope to see more of you next time.
